Cardinal Institute Announces Tour to Discuss Barriers to High Quality Health Care Access in West Virginia
Charleston, W.Va – The Cardinal Institute for West Virginia Policy announces its 2021 Health Care Tour. Our team will be travelling to cities around the state to discuss the public policies that are limiting access to high quality health care for West Virginians. We will be joined by the Mercatus Center at George Mason University and Ascension Recovery Services. The tour will culminate in a half-day conference in Charleston to discuss the health care policies expected to come before the legislature for the 2022 session.
These events are free and open to the public. Community members interested in how public policy is affecting the health care of their fellow Mountaineers are encouraged to attend.
“West Virginia’s healthcare system has plenty of room to improve,” remarked Jessica Dobrinsky, Policy Development Associate for the Cardinal Institute. “From outdated CON laws to occupational licensing, current regulations are preventing the availability of healthcare across the state. The pandemic showed the importance of removing these barriers and increasing access with the expansion of telemedicine. Now it’s time to take these issues on the road and speak to our fellow Mountaineers about the way we can make our state a healthier and safer place to live.”
